East Coast High Speed Rail Summit

Image Development

The North Carolina Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) and the North Carolina Department of Transportation partnered to host a group of experts in Raleigh, North Carolina, to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the future of high speed rail on the east coast. The one-day seminar included a number of international, national, regional and local experts on the subject and featured a series of lectures and panels to drill down on the topic. When WTS & NCDOT approached Springboard Eydo to write, design and produce a concise summary of this event, the challenge was creating an identity and logo for the Seminar, managing media relations and promotions, and compressing volumes of information into a summary document that would provide top-line information without being overwhelming for the audience.

The seminar hosts, NCDOT and WTS, wanted an identity that would capture the excitement of the future of high speed rail and also integrate into the media relations and publications aspects of the project. The summary document needed to capture the essence of the Summit and engage a wide range of readers — from high speed rail technical experts to casual hobbyists — all in a format that was engaging, easily comprehended and could be distributed through both print and email.

The Springboard Eydo team quickly crafted a strategy for addressing the challenge, proposing a sleek logo design, a comprehensive trade media relations campaign and a summary that touched on key points of the seminar. The summary featured photos and engaging design, reached the wide audience and presented well in both hardcopy and electronic formats. The resulting colorful, informative and cohesive document effectively captured the energy of the Summit and was able to engage rail aficionados throughout the country through a national email distribution network and posting on America2050.org.
